How ideas get made

We track NeoGreens' competitors and the keywords NeoGreens gave us. Everything collected is sorted, grouped into themes and turned into post ideas. Every idea links back to where it came from.

Competitors we track

Their Instagram posts, the comments under them, posts that tag them, and Amazon reviews of their greens products. We use this to see what works and what buyers ask. We never copy them.

Keywords we track

The list Saloni gave us, searched on YouTube and Reddit (videos, comments and threads). The number shows how many useful items each keyword found.

Founder LinkedIn: Amar

Everything needed to plan, write and post on Amar's personal LinkedIn. Built from the 21 Sep pitch, the 7 Oct shoot and the 8 Oct weekly call with Saloni. Read this tab top to bottom once, then use the drafts and Create to write every week.

WhatAmar's personal LinkedIn (linkedin.com/in/amarnathjan): 4 unique posts a month plus 8 reposts of the NeoGreens page with his own take.
Who it is forInvestors, founders and the industry first. Quality over volume. It is his name, so every post is approved by Saloni and Amar before it goes out.
What you doStart with the two Immediate wins below. Then one unique post a week from the pillars, drafted in Create with the format "Founder LinkedIn post", checked in FSSAI Guard.
Immediate wins (this week): 1) the behind the scenes post from the 7 Oct shoot, 2) Saloni's first topic: the micronutrient gap in India. Both drafts are below, ready to refine and send to Saloni.

The goal

  • Make Amar the credible face of NeoGreens for investors, founders and the nutrition industry (Saloni, 21 Sep and 8 Oct: "very investor oriented").
  • Target in our contract: 60,000 to 1 lakh impressions a month on his profile by month 6.
  • His profile is weak today, so we build carefully: fewer, better posts. Never spammy, never salesy.
  • Tie in with the December to mid January integrated campaign. Current thinking from Saloni: "Reclaim your health", health is your birthright, do not leave it to chance. Final lines by end of October. From November his posts start warming this idea up.

Monthly plan

WhatPer monthNotes
Unique posts (only on his profile)4One a week. Saloni wants at least one unique post every week.
Reposts from the NeoGreens page8Two a week. Never a bare repost: add 2 to 3 lines in his voice on why it matters.

What he talks about: 5 pillars

1. Why NeoGreens existsThe thinking behind the product, the three years of R&D to get the formula right, the market and the gap he saw. Investor angle: why now, why India.
2. The micronutrient gapIndia is not short of calories, it is short of micronutrients. Skipped breakfasts, desk lunches, delivery dinners. Saloni's first topic lives here.
3. Building in publicBehind the scenes: shoots, the farm in Hyderabad, freeze drying, testing (Eurofins, FSSAI, ISO), the team, the mistakes. Proof over promises.
4. Industry news, his takeA nutrition, D2C or FSSAI story from the week with his opinion in 3 to 5 lines. Use the Research tab (News and FSSAI) to find them.
5. Amar as a personHis own routine, travel (China trips, events), what he reads, founder lessons. Little chaotic, real. This is what gets reactions.

Mix per month: 1 from pillar 1 or 2, 1 building in public, 1 industry take, 1 personal. Rotate.

His own topics (from Saloni's founder profiling)

Saloni is sending Amar's founder profiling questionnaire and 4 to 5 topics he wants to talk about (promised on the 8 Oct call). They go here as soon as they arrive, and they take priority over our pillars for the first 2 to 3 months. Topic 1 already given: "80% of Indians are at risk of micronutrient deficiency" (see Immediate wins).

Rules every post follows

  • Authentic, not polished. Saloni: "too polished things are not liked, if it is original, a little chaotic, the more authentic it feels, the more reactions you get."
  • First person, plain words, short lines. One idea per post, 150 to 220 words, hook in the first line, hashtags only at the end (max 3).
  • Investor facing, not ingredient lists. Talk thinking, market, journey. Leave ingredient detail to Instagram.
  • FSSAI wording. "Supports", "helps", "up to". Never "improves", "cures", "detox", "immunity", "100%", "clinically proven", "doctor recommended". Never call it a supplement.
  • Claims need a source. Any statistic (like the 80% line) needs the study name before posting. 40x, world's first and iron absorption claims need documents first.
  • Never: price, discounts, delivery or customer care issues, knocking competitors or creators, influencer talk.
  • Photos: real photos of Amar only, from the 7 Oct shoot (edited set from Dhruv and Prisha). Natural and candid over posed.
  • No em dashes anywhere in his copy. Use full stops and commas.

Behind the scenes: my first full day in front of a camera

Why: Manan's idea on the 8 Oct call, Saloni said "Done, you could do that". Easy first post, shows a real person, sets up everything that follows.

Photos: candid frames from the 7 Oct shoot: one laughing between takes, one with the script in hand, one with the team, one at the podcast set. Ask Dhruv for the edited set.

Last week I spent my first full day in front of a camera. Landed in Mumbai at 9:30. Script walkthrough with the team by 11. A podcast with a nutritionist at 2. Then about ten short videos till the evening. What I learnt: I have a lot to say. The editors have a lot to cut. Why I did it. When we started NeoGreens I believed a good product would speak for itself. It does not. People want to know who is behind what they put in their glass every morning. Where it is grown. Who tests it. Why it took us three years to get the formula right. So I am going to share more of that here. The farm. The formula. The testing. And the things we got wrong before we got them right. If you have a question about daily nutrition, or about building a food brand in India, leave it in the comments. I will answer as many as I can.

First comment: "The first conversation from the podcast goes live on our page soon. Tanay and I argue about whether anyone should replace vegetables with a powder. (Spoiler: no.)"

Check with Amar before posting: that it was his first full shoot day, and that he is fine with the joke about the editors.

India is not short of calories. It is short of micronutrients.

Why: the first topic Saloni gave us on the 8 Oct call: "how 80% of Indians are at risk of micronutrient deficiency". Pillar 2, and the root of the December campaign idea.

Before posting: get the source for the 80% figure from Saloni (study, year, sample). If there is none, use the softer line in brackets.

Most of us in India are not short of calories. We are short of micronutrients. [80% of Indians are at risk of micronutrient deficiency. Source: ________ ] (No source yet? Use: "A large share of urban Indians do not get enough everyday micronutrients from what they eat.") It does not look like hunger. It looks like a skipped breakfast. A lunch at the desk. A delivery dinner at 10 pm. Every day, for years. That gap is the reason NeoGreens exists. We did not set out to replace a single meal. Nothing should replace real food on your plate. We set out to make the everyday part easier: a simple daily habit that supports what your meals are missing. It took us three years to get the formula right, because simple is hard. Health is not something you should leave to chance. I will be writing more about this gap over the next few weeks. What does your actual weekday plate look like?

Run it through FSSAI Guard once the stat is filled in. Keep "supports". Do not add ingredient lists.

How Amar sounds

  • Plain and practical. His own words in the launch release: "Daily nutrition products should be straightforward to understand and practical to use."
  • Simple, honest, a bit understated. He would rather say "we got this wrong" than "we revolutionised".
  • He talks a lot when he is passionate (the 7 Oct shoot proved it). On LinkedIn we keep his energy but cut to one idea.
  • Engineer and builder brain. Process, testing, why a decision was made. Not hype.
  • Warm "we", personal "I". "We" for the company and team, "I" for his own view and lessons.

Words he would use

simple, everyday, daily habit, real food, the plate, the gap, honest, tested, three years, we learnt, here is why

Words he would never use

revolutionary, game changer, superfood miracle, detox, boost immunity, cure, 100%, clinically proven, supplement, hustle

Stories he owns (use these, they are true)

  • Why it exists: meals get skipped, routines stretch, health always comes second.
  • Three years of R&D to get the Daily Greens formula right.
  • Micronutrients are the missing half, protein is not the whole picture.
  • The farm: NeoGreens grows its own microgreens in Hyderabad and freeze dries them. About 24% of Daily Greens is microgreens: say it exactly that way.
  • Proof over promises: Eurofins testing for heavy metals and microbes, FSSAI, ISO.
  • The honest line: nobody should take a greens powder instead of vegetables. It complements the plate, never replaces it.
  • Not 100% on purpose: it is not a meal replacement.
